Balloons are cancelled often, and the rule that applies is usually the storefront’s rather than the pilot’s. This page will quote every one of them.

A scrubbed flight has three possible endings: a refund, a rebooking on a later morning, or a voucher you cannot use because you fly home tomorrow. Which one you get is written in the terms of whoever took your money, and that is often a reseller rather than the company that owns the balloon.

This page will quote each rule in full, say whose rule it is, and record how long you have to claim it.

## What should I look for before booking?

Whether a weather cancellation is a cash refund or a rebooking, and how many days you have to use a rebooking. On a short trip those two answers decide whether the booking is worth making at all.
